Document Controls Specialist – onsite
We have a contract opening in South Plainfield, NJ for a Document Controls Specialist within the Record Management Center of the Electric Transmission & Distribution Organization with our client. This will be fully on site and in person, five days per week (Monday through Friday), 8 working hours per day.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain document control and record management systems for the organization. Proficiency with file transfer protocols and procedures.
- Provide general support for ET&D utilizing our document management software, McLaren.
- Able to communicate effectively with architectural and engineering firms as well as company engineers to resolve issues and conflicts with drawings.
- Able to plan, organize, and collect information and make judgments through collaboration with team leaders.
- Able to interface and work with teams with diverse disciplines, understand their documentation needs and requirements.
- Support Records Management Center team with database updates and logs.
- Able to provide support and training of new staff and A&E’s on Document Control processes and procedures.
- Support plotting / printing requests from project teams and organize physical drawing packages for field personnel.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Must be proficient in the use of computer technology and software, such as Outlook, Excel, Word and Adobe Acrobat.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with various stakeholders including Project Management, Construction, A&E, and IP Engineering personnel.
- Must foster an inclusive work environment and respect all aspects of diversity.
- Must be able to lift drawing packages exceeding 20 lbs.
- Must be able to work standing up for several hours per day to make scans and work with engineering plotter equipment.
- It is preferred to have 1 - 3 years of experience in document control or records management within an engineering or construction organization.
- Successful candidate will be highly motivated, team oriented and well-organized.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with multiple priorities.
- Able to organize, prioritize and work under tight schedules.
- Applicant must have effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, strong organizing skills, and be results-oriented.
Desired:
- College degree or certification .
- 1 - 3 years experience in document controls or other relevant field.
- Familiarity with OCE, HP or other plotting equipment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of SharePoint, FileNet, shared drives and DMS Systems – i.e. McLaren.
- Basic knowledge of MicroStation.
- Familiarity and experience with a utility company.
