NVH Engineer

An NVH Engineer specializes in reducing noise, vibration, and harshness in vehicles. They play a crucial role in enhancing overall vehicle comfort and performance. Below are the key responsibilities and qualifications for this role:

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Transmission, Axle and eTransaxle Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) Development:
• Responsible for testing and development related to noise in transmission, axle and electronic transaxle systems.
• Lead active noise tuning for existing vehicles.
• Contribute to the development of future active noise/vibration control technology.
2. Architectural Design Studies:
• Analyze and develop key NVH metrics (e.g., gear noise) while considering implications on other system attributes.
3. Collaboration and Reporting:
• Work closely with testing teams to ensure correlation of analytical results with physical testing.
• Develop technical reports documenting analysis and present findings to management.
• Collaborate with NVH and design engineers to achieve targets for function and cost.
4. Advanced and Core Projects:
• Contribute to both advanced and core NVH projects.
• Maintenance and improvement of current NVH software products and interfaces.

 
Qualifications:

• Education: A relevant degree, such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive, Acoustics, Technical, Education, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics.

 
Desired Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook, especially Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with tools such as rotating electrical machines, and vibration area of acoustic measurement technology.
• Knowledge of transmissions, eMotors, electronic transaxles and power train related components
• Experience with digital signal processing techniques.

 
Desired Experience:

• 0-3 years of experience in Powertrain NVH development, including data acquisition, processing, analysis, interpretation, and issue resolution.
• Strong technical background with hands-on experience in digital signal processing and active control.
• Self-starter capable of learning new technology and leading cross-organization teams.
