Our Tulsa, OK client has a contract opportunity for a Senior Project Manager who will plan, organize, direct, coordinate assigned project work activities with demonstrated proficiency in all aspects with minimal management oversight. Supports and is accountable for the client’s System Safety Process, ensuring a safe working environment focused on “Commitment to Zero Harm.”

 

  • This position is designated as Hybrid work and will require 2-3 days a week on location in Tulsa. Remaining days will be remote.
  • Local candidates only. Candidates that require relocation prior to start will not be considered.
  • Candidates local to Tulsa, OK. and surrounding areas.
  • M-F 40 hour week ,OT possible but rare.
  • 25% travel consists of traveling to project sites.
  • Some travel time may be needed on weekend to get to project by Monday morning.
  • Usually, travel is within the weekday time frame.
  • Overnight stay is required and can be multiple nights.

 

Requirements::

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or related field of study with five (5) years qualified experience or, two-year Associate’s degree in the same required disciplines with seven (7) years of qualified experience (see below).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.
  • Qualified experience includes outage management activities, business/financial administration, major construction field experience, project estimating, project controls, project engineering, and/or comparable internal or external experience in a competitive production environment.
  • Knowledge in construction safety, negotiations, scope development and control, cost estimating, construction contracting, project controls and reporting, and quality control would be beneficial.
  • Experience in electrical utilities preferred. Will also consider oil and gas utilities.
  • Knowledge of linear pipeline permitting and ROW
  • Looking for strong leadership skills, length of time with past employers, self motivation to improve.
  • Experience must exhibit increasing project management and business/financial administration activities and responsibilities.
  • Trained in areas of construction safety, negotiations, scope development and control, cost estimating, construction contracting, project controls and reporting, quality control, risk management.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of predominately medium risk projects, or assist in the management of projects of the highest complexity, within a matrix team environment.
  • Provide leadership, direction, training, coordination, and effective communication to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close projects in a safe, efficient, economical, risk-balanced approach to achieve short and long range goals and to obtain maximum customer satisfaction.
  • Develop relationships and effectively communicate with all stakeholders including internal customers, external customers, team members, suppliers, contractors, vendors, and industry peers.
  • Plan, organize, direct, coordinate assigned project work activities with demonstrated proficiency in all aspects with minimal management oversight.
  • Support and be accountable for the System Safety Process, ensuring a safe working environment focused on “Commitment to Zero Harm”.
  • Supervise, develop, review and coordinate the project plan, schedule, budget, with demonstrated proficiency in all aspects. Effectively manage cost and timely reallocate funding.
  • Effectively communicate project details and status updates. Lead planning meetings and project updates including detailed and complex stakeholder presentations. Provide clear and concise written reports.
  • Develop and actively manage working relationships with the project team, internal and external customers or partners, contractors, vendors, and suppliers. Foster teamwork and actively monitor customer satisfaction.
  • Provide wide range of detailed guidance, instruction, and training to improve design, systems, procedures, processes, schedules, and costs.
  • Confidently challenge others at a high level of informed understanding in all project work.
  • Ensure maximum customer satisfaction and demonstrate effective and efficient performance of project work activities on complex project level.
  • Represent client with industrial customers, vendors, and regulators as assigned projects dictate.

 

Preferred:

  • Prefers experience in utility construction management, running projects from beginning to end, responsible for scope and budget.
  • Prefers PMP certification.
  • Knowledge in construction safety, negotiations, scope development and control, cost estimating, construction contracting, project controls and reporting, and quality control would be beneficial.
