A contractor is needed in Tulsa, OK for a hybrid Civil Engineer with civil engineering experience (2 to 6 years) and leadership skills to perform civil site engineering assignments for Electric Substation and Transmission Line projects.

 

  • This position is classified as “Hybrid.” Hybrid employees have some, but not all, work tasks that are required to be performed from an on-site location. As a hybrid employee, you will be required to report to the Tulsa, OK office three days per week (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday). The remainder of the week should be worked from home unless there is a field assignment or otherwise directed.
  • Travel (~10-20%) is required for this position and will consist of trips to the field to diagnose civil engineering issues related to electric transmission lines and substations. Field assignments are generally within a 5-hour driving distance of the assigned office location. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day. Some OT may be required, as approved.

 

Qualifications:

  • Has typically acquired 2 to 4 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in a program accredited by ABET*; or 2 years of related engineering experience along with a Master’s degree in civil engineering from a program accredited by ABET*
  • Individuals with a PhD in civil engineering from an engineering program accredited by ABET* may be considered for entry into the organization at this level
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico** is encouraged and preferred.
  • Qualified candidates shall possess knowledge of civil site engineering principles through education and/or demonstrated project experience related to site grading, stormwater management, drainage design/analysis, roadway design, retaining walls, earthwork, erosion and sediment control, permitting, surveying, etc.
  • Knowledge and/or experience using AutoCAD and Civil3D software is desired.
  • Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination in preparation for future licensing as a Professional Engineer (PE) is encouraged and preferred.
  • Successful candidates will possess the proven ability to assess and recommend best case civil engineering solutions and collaborate with higher level non-civil engineers and other project stakeholders in solving civil engineering related challenges in consideration of safety, performance, cost, constructability, risk and liability.

 

*ABET – Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. Acceptable alternatives are (1) a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (non-ABET), plus a Professional Engineers (PE) license in any state of the U.S. or (2) a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (focus in geotechnical engineering) from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor’s program.
